En estos días mucha gente se me acerca para preguntarme si soy yo la que sale en el anuncio del Banco del Progreso, como yo no sabía que ya el comercial estaba en la T.V. me quedaba un poco pensativa, pero sí mis querid@s, soy yo la del anuncio. Me emociona mucho la idea de estar en el anuncio, no por el hecho de aparecer en televisión, pero más que nada por ver con mis propios ojos que en poco tiempo nuestro país está cambiando su mentalidad en torno al tema del cabello. El hecho de aparecer en la T.V. como una persona normal igual que todo mundo y que no se utilice alguien con cabello afro sólo cuando se quiere dar una connotación negativa me dice que algo va cambiando poco a poco. 

Les cuento un poco, yo fui al casting de esta anuncio pues buscaban una chica de cabello natural. Ya se imaginan que fui con mi pajón en su máxima expresión y a todo volumen. El día de la grabación el cliente decidió que quería mi cabello menos encendido, es decir, que quería que tuviera un afrito y no un afrote. A lo que le respondí a la chica de casting: "ah no te preocupes dame un segundo". Pedí a la maquillista que me prestara su atomizador y lo llené de agua, fui al baño y me humedecí el cabello un poco, luego con las manos lo moldeé para bajar el volumen y que el pajón tomara la forma de un afrito. Cuando salí del baño todo el mundo me decía, pero como hiciste eso? y yo con una sonrisita de oreja a oreja me decía en mis adentros mmm esa es la versatilidad del cabello natural.

Yo como no tengo televisión (y no tengo plan de tener una) aún no me he visto en el comercial, pero si lo encuentran por internet por fa mandanme el link y lo publicaré en la página.

These days many people approach me to ask if I'm the one on the T.V. add of Banco del Progreso, as I did not know that the commercial was already released yet I did not know what to answer, but my dears, I'm the add. I'm excited about the idea of being in the add, not for the fact of appearing on television, but more than anything to see with my own eyes that soon our country is changing the mentality mind on the subject of afro-natural-hair. The fact of appearing in an add like a normal person and that the image of a woman with natural hair is not longer used just to give a negative connotation tells me that something is slowly changing in DR.

To tell you a bit, I went to the casting because they announced that  a natural hair girl was needed. You can imagine that I was there with hair out and loud. The day of shooting the client decided they wanted my hair less loud, I meant instead of a big afro, they wanted to be a bit smaller. To which I replied: "do not worry, ah just give me a second." I asked the makeup artist to lend me her spray bottle and filled it with water, went to the bathroom and I wet my hair a little, then I molded it with my hands to set down the volume. When I left the bathroom everybody asked: But how did you do that? and me with a smile from ear to ear said to myself "mmm that's the versatility of natural hair".

I as I have no television, and have not plan of getting one, I still have not seen the commercial, but if you find it online please send me the link and published it here.
